Dedicated to advancing the message of the New Evangelization. In his Apostolic Letter Novo Millenio Ineunte, Pope John Paul II states, “There is a pressing need to implement an extensive plan of vocational promotion.” (NMI, 46) Mystery Trip is one of the ways we’re responding to that need. We believe that true discovery of one’s unique and personal vocation – whether that be marriage, priesthood, or consecrated life – is preceded by discovery of one’s identity as a beloved son or beloved daughter of God. Only when we trust God as Father can we free fall into the mystery of where He will lead us. Mystery Trip witnesses powerfully to this reality through the straightforward, real-life story of teenagers who are themselves the raw and unfinished products of grace, knowledge and surrender.

Mystery Trip Is

An up-close, honest exploration of young people on the road, trying to find their place in life. A group of teens says yes to a bus trip without knowing the destination or the duration of the trek. This feature-length reality film follows their physical and spiritual journeys as they come to grips with major questions of identity, problems at home and the fear that God may (or may not) be calling them to a mystery beyond this trip.

Mystery Trip "Live" Is

More than a movie. The message of the New Evangelization cannot be fully conveyed by popping a movie into a DVD player, because it is a living message, a message of dynamics, a message of love. The New Evangelization must be lived and experience, not merely “watched.” For this reason, we’re sharing the film across the country and internationally in a format called Mystery Trip LIVE. This puts the film in the middle of a more holistic and dynamic experience that also has at its heart a time of Eucharistic Adoration and worship, a brief keynote speech, a Q&A session for viewers to ask about and respond to the film, and take-home booklets that guide participants onto the next steps of their own “mystery trip.” Our vision for Mystery Trip has three parts, all of which work together to make this more than just a movie…

1. Excellent Media-based Production

From television to concerts, teens have high standards when it comes to media and production. Mystery Trip LIVE offers that high quality to which our culture us accustomed. In an environment where media is often used to feed young people a shallow worldview and abundant immorality, Mystery Trip LIVE uses excellent media to instill themes of love, hope, trust, and deep purpose. We believe the Gospel deserves at least the same level of excellence that is given to other mainstream messages.

2. Authentic Experience of Jesus Christ

Teens often struggle to translate the beauty of the Faith they may have learned in Catechism classes and youth group meetings into a real, living relationship with God. Through sharing the film, spending time before Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration, worshiping God through song, and speaking of His great love, we offer an authentic and dynamic encounter with Jesus Christ. We’re also providing ways to make this more than a one-time experience; its the beginning of an ongoing journey with God.

3. From a Missionary Heart

With a single-hearted desire to share the message of the New Evangelization, the Mystery Trip film and outreach must come from a missionary heart, a humble heart. This is crucial in a culture that uses media and production to elevate people instead of God. We desire to be servants to those with whom we share the experience, and we desire the experience to be beautiful and accessible to all.
